Hong Kong Welsh Male Voice Choir

The Hong Kong Welsh Male Voice Choir made their first visit to the Philippines.  They came over at their own expense to put on two performances in aid of our charity and raised nearly 60,000 pesos.

The first performance was held in the Immaculate Concepcion Parish Church, Santa Maria 2, and the second in the Wild Orchid Resort. 

The choir, all 32 of them, were truly magnificent and very appreciative of the Filipino audience.

As one of them commented afterwards ‘They were the best and most enthusiastic audience we have ever had’.

At the first venue during the break between the choir’s performances, 10 Bahay Bata boys gave an excellent rendition on their rondallas (similar to mandolins).

Further impromptu performances by the choir were held at the Orange Lion hotel and Garfields Last Stand Bar (both ardent supporters of our Center). 

The good news is that they enjoyed the Filipino hospitality so much and were greatly impressed by the work we are doing at our Center, they plan to return for more fund raising performances in July 2007. 

Now that is good news, and from all of us a very big thanks to the choir.
